Columbus Senior Advisor is committed to making columbussenioradvisor.com usable by as many people as possible, including people with visual, motor, auditory, or cognitive disabilities. Many families reaching out to us are doing so during a stressful time, sometimes on behalf of a parent who has a disability themselves, and we take seriously that our own site shouldn't create another barrier.

Our approach

We design and build this site with accessibility in mind, guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). In practice, that means working toward sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds, a clear and consistent navigation structure, text that scales and reflows for readers who need larger font sizes, keyboard-navigable menus and forms, and descriptive link text and headings that make sense when read out of visual context by a screen reader. Our chat quiz and contact form are built to be operable without a mouse and to expose clear labels to assistive technology.

An ongoing commitment

Accessibility isn't a one-time checklist for us — it's something we revisit as we add new pages and features to the site. We know we may not have gotten everything right, and we treat every accessibility issue a visitor reports as something worth fixing, not just noting.
